News Quiz Question submissions 2/3-2/7

If you submit a question you MUST follow these guidelines for consideration of acceptance. You may submit up to 2 for bonus points on the current event quiz for Friday 2/7. You may NOT use someone else's question from another period. 
1. Do NOT submit a question that is arbitrary such as specific number as the answer...
2. Need both first and last name
3. Your class period
4. Question (Make sure that it is free of spelling and grammar errors)
5. Finally submit the answer

If you do not follow these guidelines your question will not be considered.

* You will not be able to correct your news quiz answers so it is imperative that you use THIS site to study before the quiz.

VOTING this week is ELECTION WEEK.

This week you are expected to go through the ballot. We are going to vote in cooperation with the Secretary of State of Washington, Kim Wyman. You will only be given one paper ballot so be responsible and don't lose it. If you do it is your responsibility to print off another not Reed's.

  1. Open a Google Doc and name it, VOTING 2019
  2. Share the Google Doc with jim.reed@washougalsd.org immediately.
  3. You will be researching Referendum 88, Initiative 976, Advisory votes (20-31), and each candidate position. Click here for an electronic copy of our paper ballot.
  4. List the for each in the Google doc

    2. Con's
    3. Justification for why you are voting the way your voting.

  6. You will be getting points for working on this. You will lose points if you are on a webpage that you should not be on or on your phone. If you get caught twice you will have to hand write and research with the paper copy voter pamphlet.

Instructions for Current Events Notebook
You will be expected to follow current events during this course. Bi-weekly you will be expected to write summaries of six news stories from different categories. You cannot use the stories that are shown in class. Each summary should include:
1.       A brief (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences) summary of the event, including “who, what, when, and where.”
2.       A one paragraph (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences) explanation of the significance of the event (Why is this event important?”)
3.       A brief citation of where you found this news event (CNN, Seattle Times, Channel 12 News, etc.)
