Current Events Instructions 

Instructions for Current Events Notebook
You will be expected to follow current events during this course. Bi-weekly you will be expected to write summaries of six news stories from different categories. You cannot use the stories that are shown in class. Each summary should include:
1.       A brief (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences) summary of the event, including “who, what, when, and where.”
2.       A one paragraph (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences) explanation of the significance of the event (Why is this event important?”)
3.       A brief citation of where you found this news event (CNN, Seattle Times, Channel 12 News, etc.)
News Categories: (No More than one story per week from any one category)
1.       Politics                                              6. Northwest News
2.       Government                                      7. Culture
3.       Economics                                        8. Health and Science
4.       National News                                  9. Business and Technology
5.       World News)                                    10. Sports and Entertainment*
