Current Events Instructions
Instructions for
Current Events Notebook:
You will be expected to follow current events during this
course. Bi-weekly you will be expected to write summaries of six news stories
from different categories. You cannot
use the stories that are shown in class. Each summary should include:
1.
A brief (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences)
summary of the event, including “who, what, when, and where.”
2.
A one paragraph (one paragraph- at least 5 sentences) explanation of the significance
of the event (Why is this event important?”)
3.
A brief citation of where you found this news
event (CNN, Seattle Times, Channel 12 News, etc.)

(No More than one story per week from any one category)
